Duke of Edinburgh & Compass Awards at Toorak College
If you’re 10 years of age or over you can join other students at Toorak College who’ve discovered how to have lots of fun and learn a whole lot more about themselves through the different elements of these Awards.
The Compass Award is for children and teenagers 10-14 years. Once you’re 14 years of age you can join the Duke of Edinburgh Bronze, Silver & Gold Award Program. You need to be 14 + years to do your bronze, 15+ to do your silver and the gold can be started once you are 16+ years of age.

- The Programs are open to everyone and you work at your own pace and level
- You work on projects and develop skills that interest you
- Through the adventurous expeditions available you can learn a whole new range of skills and develop confidence in your abilities – if you didn’t think you could do something you’ll surprise yourself and discover hidden talents and skills
- Through the community service component you’ll have the opportunity to 'make a difference'
- We’ll support you at every step of the Award/s

Meet the Duke of Edinburgh Captain:
Hi,
 My name’s Caitlyn Mankey and I’m currently in Year 11 at Toorak College. I’ve been involved in the Compass Award and Duke of Edinburgh Award for almost 7 years and I just love it. Some of the activities I’ve done include horse riding, sailing and volunteering at local animal shelters and surf lifesaving clubs.
We help all new girls to feel welcome and involved - if you have any queries please email me or catch up with me in person. You can find me in Bardon House most lunchtimes.
I’ve learnt so many new things through the Duke of Ed Program and think it’s one of the best programs I could have joined.
