International Enrolment Procedure

1. Application Procedure:

Please complete our International Student Enrolment Application and send it to Toorak College with the following information attached:

• Copy of Birth Certificate
• Copy of Passport & Visa (if available)
• Application Fee $200
• Copy of Student's most recent report (translated)
• Copy of any Public Examinations e.g. AEAS

2. Enrolment Procedure:

Admission to the School is conditional. The Principal must be satisfied as to the suitability of each applicant.

a. Toorak College will send you the following:

• Letter of Offer
• Toorak College International Student Agreement Form
• Fact Sheets and the Welcome to Boarding Handbook
• Learning Program Information for Students and Parents

b. To accept your offer we require:

• Payment of the deposit (refer to your Letter of Offer)
• Completed Toorak College International Student Agreement Form

c. On receipt of the above information we will fax to you:

• Confirmation of Enrolment and Welfare Form, to enable you to apply for a Student Visa
• Medical Form to be completed and faxed back to Toorak College

English Language Requirements:

Students are usually offered a place based on the results of IELTS, AEAS testing or similar. If the student is able to visit Toorak College (or a qualified member of Toorak College visits the student in their home country), a provisional offer may be made prior to the results of future testing.

Students are required to submit the following with their application:

• A translated copy of the Student's most recent school reports
• A copy of any Public Examinations e.g. AEAS
   

Intensive English Language Centre (IELC):

Toorak College has its own centre to cater for ESL Students. It uses a combination of the latest computer aided learning techniques and small group activities to allow students to advance as rapidly as possible. Students will be involved in the life of Toorak College and this will ease the transition to ESL courses and mainstream courses. Once in mainstream classes, the IELC will provide ongoing support.

Boarding House:

All International Students are securely housed in our modern, well-equipped boarding house.

Guardianship:

Toorak College provides Student Supervisors for all International Students. A Student Supervisor is appointed prior to arrival and will be directly responsible for their well being while they are enrolled.

Notebook Computer Program:

Toorak College provides a notebook computer for each International Student, for the duration of their studies. International Students are not allowed to use their own computer at Toorak College. Please refer to the International Students Terms of Business and Fees & Charges for annual fee.

Uniform and Books:

Initial uniform purchases are made under supervision and may either be paid for on the day of purchase or charged to your account. The estimated cost is AUD$1,000. Ongoing uniform requirements must be paid for at time of purchase. Students purchase books from our Retail Centre when they arrive at the School. The estimated cost is AUD$400-$600.
