Joan Ansett Hall
Toorak College’s Joan Ansett Hall is a purpose built boarding facility and provides a comforting ‘home away from home’ for our Australian and International students. Nestled in the spacious and beautiful grounds of Toorak College, its proximity to bayside beaches gives the campus a unique country environment, away from the day to day city distractions.
It is a secure and well equipped boarding house, with everything your daughter will need.
We have single rooms for our girls in Year 11 and 12, and Year 7 to 10 girls are accommodated in twin rooms. This allows them to learn to live cooperatively with others and to foster friendships. These rooms may be changed at the end of each semester to allow the girls to develop social interactions with girls across the junior years.
Joan Ansett Hall has access to the school mini bus and staff use this frequently to transport the girls for shopping, to the train station or to social events.
We have a modern and contemporary common room and a range of recreation facilities for the girls to enjoy including:
- fully equipped gymnasium
- tennis courts
- heated swimming pool
- multi-media lecture theatre
- tutorial rooms
- private study area
- student lounge
- wireless network
- dining room with garden views and alfresco dining
We educate girls to have balance in their lives through academic studies, participating in sport, exercise and maintaining health and wellbeing. The emphasis on mind, body and spirit nourishes the whole person.
In order to ensure a learning environment that is conducive to study, boarders have supervised study times, individual study facilities and access to the School's internet and intranet. Tutors are available in the evenings to support the boarders in their study.
