Megan Goodwin's (TC '05) discovery of the music therapy profession came whilst she was browsing through her VTAC guide in Year 10 and quickly became of interest to her when she researched and delivered a presentation to her class on this topic shortly thereafter. Megan always had a passion for music, immersing herself in many musical opportunities at school such as orchestra, concert band, jazz, etc and enjoyed psychology so being able to combine the two areas of thought in the one career was cause for significant excitement. With the support of her teachers, Megan went straight into a Bachelor of Music at the Conservatorium of Music at Melbourne University. In the first three years, Megan majored in her primary instrument (percussion) as well as psychology before specialising in music therapy for the final two years of the course where she graduated with honours in 2010.
