Jean Kittson is an actress, comedienne and writer who, having come to national attention on The Big Gig in the early 1990s, has also appeared on our screens in productions including Let the Blood Run Free, Good News Week and The Einstein Factor. A regular panellist on ABC 702’s radio program, Thank God It’s Friday, Jean has also been a columnist for, among others, New Weekly, the Sunday Telegraph, the Sydney Morning Herald’s Sydney magazine and Inspire magazine. In 1998 she released her first book, Tongue Lashing. Of Toorak, Jean says, ‘The first thing that struck me about Toorak College was the girls. They were extremely confident and self-possessed, and they were true individuals. This was greatly due to the example of our Headmistress, Dorothea Cerruty’. The inaugural Chair of the Australian Gynaecological Cancer Foundation, a founding Director of the Australian Cord Blood Foundation and a founding Ambassador for Ovarian Cancer Australia, Jean advocates strongly for women’s health issues and has recently published a book on menopause, You’re Still Hot To Me. She is also an ambassador for The Macular Disease Foundation Australia, Northcott Disability Services and the Australian Gynaecological Cancer Foundation, to name a few.
