Collegian Grants Program

The Collegians Grants program exists to foster entrepreneurship, innovation and creative endeavor in the Collegian Community. Projects available for funding of up to $1,000 can be in the Arts, Sports, Science, Community or Charity areas.

The Collegians Grant application process opens twice a year during the months of February and July. All applications must be submitted in these calendar months for consideration. The Toorak Collegians Committee shall review and give fair consideration to all applicants and shall advise each applicant of the outcome of their application.

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible to apply for a Toorak Collegians Grant, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • Applications should be in writing and are only open to Ordinary Members of the Toorak Collegians.
  • The person applying must be the one that will run the program or project.
  • Applications will not be accepted from people who have not successfully completed projects in the past for which they received a Collegians Grant.
  • The project can be in the Arts, Sports, Science, Community or Charity.
  • The applicant has a demonstrated capacity to implement the project.
  • The project is well-prepared, appropriately planned and financially viable.
  • The applicant has made an appropriate in-kind or financial contribution to the project.
  • There are clear outcomes from the project.
  • The project does not breach any current legislation.
  • The project is appropriate to publicise within the school environment (Year 7 and up).
  • It would be beneficial, but not essential, that the project, or the experience of planning and implementing the project, be of benefit to current students or Toorak Collegians.

Assessment Criteria

The criteria to assess appropriateness include:

  • The applicant has a demonstrated capacity to implement the project.

  • The applicant has made an appropriate in-kind or financial contribution to the project.
  • There are clear outcomes from the project.
  • The project does not breach any current legislation.
  • The project is appropriate to publicise within the school environment (Year 7 and up).
  • It would be beneficial, but not essential, that the project, or the experience of planning and implementing the project, be of benefit to current students or Toorak Collegians.
