This group promote our school’s riding pursuits, assist in hosting events including Toorak College’s Showjumping Day, Toorak College Dressage Day and the Toorak College Interschool Horse Show along with organizing social functions.
Friends of Sailing
Friends of Sailing help to build an enthusiastic team of sailors. These supportive parents help promote camaraderie throughout the sailing community, encourage students to take up sailing and to also help raise funds for equipment and competition prizes for their children.
Friends of Snowsports
Friends of Snowsports support their child’s interests by assisting with fundraising activities, information evenings, social events (including our popular social weekends up on the slopes) and dry land training sessions. These parents also promote student fitness, organise training weekends and help host trail days at Mount Buller in the lead up to the Victorian Interschool Snowsports Championships every August.
Friends of Human Powered Vehicle (HPV)
Friends of Human Powered Vehicle support this truly innovative form of learning. Human Powered Vehicle is a sport where students work closely with their parents to create the best possible vehicle and compete against other Schools. This group is involved in the maintenance and ‘tweaking’ the engineering to make the pedal powered or Hybrid (battery and pedal power) vehicles work at their optimum. The two main events are the Wonthaggi 24 hour endurance event, and the RACV Maryborough events which involve camping at the cycling track. Parents play an important role in helping our team by monitoring the number of laps, campsite management, catering, assisting with vehicle repair and transport of the equipment to and from the events.
Friends of Performing Arts
Friends of Performing Arts are an enthusiastic group of parents who support their children’s performances. They look to also connect with and support other like-minded parents, understand what is expected of their children as performers and appreciate the importance of attending performances.
