Toorak College, located in Mt Eliza on the stunning Mornington Peninsula is offering an exciting opportunity for a Curriculum Leader - Health, PE and Wellbeing to join our Senior School Academic Team.

Reporting to the Deputy Head of Senior School, Academic Growth, this role will contribute to the strategic direction of the school as a member of the Senior School LeadershipTeam.

The Curriculum Leader Health, PE & Wellbeing will drive pedagogical research and provide recommendations on best practice and innovative Health/PE Curriculum design and delivery. The key components of this position include leadership of:

  • Curriculum development - consistent and effective delivery of best quality programs, teaching and learning activities

  • Academic Support & Enrichment - achieving best possible outcomes for all students within their curriculum area

  • Staff Management & Development - providing guidance to, and promoting innovation in, Curriculum Area teaching staff

This role provides a unique opportunity to create a vision for our Health/PE/Wellbeing Curricuclum Area that drives best practice curriculum design and delivery, whilst building a high performing team of Senior School teachers with expertise in a diverse range of subjects.

The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner will possess :

  • A track record of success in building highly effective teams within and across departments and functions of a school.

  • Experience in curriculum development, auditing and innovation.

  • Outstanding interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal to assist in dealing with sometimes difficult and emotional situations involving students, parents and staff.

  • An ability to attract, mentor, inspire and retain outstanding staff who are passionate about education.

  • A capacity to build high quality relationships that engender trust and respect with key stakeholders.
