Toorak College is seeking an experienced Kitchen Hand to join a supportive, dynamic and engaging work environment. This is a fast paced and multifaceted role within a busy kitchen and catering department. Job-share is an option for the right candidate/candidates.

The successful candidate/s will:

  • Be experienced in the service of food and beverage and also working in a commercial kitchen setting.
  • Assist with kitchen hand duties and food service for the School’s Boarding House students.
  • Provide front of house food and beverage service for external catering and events as required.
  • Possess a clear understanding and knowledge of food health and safety procedures.
  • Have a genuine interest & knowledge of food service and basic food preparation skills.
  • Have the ability to work autonomously or part of a team, use initiative to achieve results with a customer service focus.

Specific requirements include:

  • Current driver's license
  • Food Handler’s Certificate, Level 1.
  • Possess a high level of physical fitness sufficient to meet the demands of the role.
  • Valid Employee Working with Children Check

Desirable but not essential:

  • First Aid Certificate, Level 1
  • RSA Certificate

Hours are Monday to Friday from 4.00pm to 8.00pm during school term only, however additional hours may be required during school holidays.
