Student Recognition

Recognising excellence in different fields of endeavour, including academic, leadership, sport and co-curricular activities, is an important part of our leadership culture at Toorak College. This includes both formal and informal acknowledgement as well as symbolic recognition through the awarding of Pockets, Jumpers and Colours (half and full) for House, Academic and School.

Wardle House Awards

Leadership and Excellence are celebrated in Wardle House. Captains and Vice Captains in Year 6 and the Junior School Council (JSC) members are each awarded a badge and certificate. Learning Endeavour Awards are allocated each semester and acknowledge a student’s commitment to improving their learning through the PYP (Primary Years Programme) attitudes and skill development. House Awards are received by House Captains for the Citizenship Cup, Newman Trophy and Westmore Shield. A range of awards celebrating personal achievements are also presented at the Final Assembly in December.

Senior School Awards

Recognition of involvement and achievement in our school is represented by a wide array of awards for club involvement, leadership positions as well as sporting, cultural and academic fields.

School Colours

At the conclusion of Year 12, School Colours recognise a student’s contribution and commitment to the School throughout their time at Toorak College. Colours are awarded to students who have met strict criteria across the following categories: service to the School, Academic, Sport and Performing Arts.
