Heidi Sze (TC’03) has many fond memories of her time at Toorak College, and feels lucky to have spent her high school years with such a wonderful group of girls. House drama was a highlight, Heidi was a avid Douglas member.
After school, Heidi studied Nutrition and Dietetics at Monash University, and worked in a number of settings (hospitals, aged care, corporate), before moving to private practice. During this time, Heidi started writing a blog called Apples Under My Bed, where she would write about food and share recipes. After the birth of her first child in 2015, Heidi decided to focus on pre and postnatal nutrition, and support women during matrescence (the transition to motherhood), as well as second, third and fourth-time parents.
When pregnant with her second child, Heidi secured a book deal. Heidi's book is called Nurturing Your New Life, words and recipes for the new mother, and was published by HarperCollins Australia in September 2019.Presently, Heidi is not taking on new clients, as she is busy looking after her two children, aged 2 and 6. Heidi is also a columnist for ABC Everyday, where she shares a new recipe each month. Heidi's book deal and work as a columnist has come about largely thanks to her blog, which she started in 2010.
