Roles and Responsibilities:
Reporting to the Deputy Head of Senior School, Academic Growth, the Curriculum Leader plays a key role in the strategic direction of the Senior School and will form part of the School Leadership Team. This position provides a unique opportunity to develop and implement a vision for curriculum excellence, drive pedagogical innovation, and build a high-performing team of teachers dedicated to achieving exceptional outcomes for every student.
Key Responsibilities include: - Lead innovative curriculum design, development and delivery aligned with the School’s strategic priorities.
- Facilitate curriculum planning and pedagogical discussions, using student learning data to drive continuous improvement in teaching practice.
- Oversee high-quality teaching, learning programs, assessment design and reporting within the curriculum area.
- Collaborate across Early Learning, Junior and Senior School to ensure a seamless and consistent learning experience for students.
- Support student achievement through targeted academic support pathways and curriculum-based enrichment opportunities.
- Lead, mentor and develop teaching staff, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation and professional growth.
- Contribute to staff Professional Growth Plans through goal setting, classroom observation, feedback and mentoring of new teachers.
- Work collaboratively with Heads of Year, Curriculum Leaders and learning support teams to ensure continuity of programs and effective student transitions.
- Provide academic guidance and course advice to students and families where appropriate.
- Manage curriculum administration, including resources, budgeting and coordination of excursions and enrichment activities.
About You: The successful candidate will be an exemplary classroom practitioner and will possess :
- A track record of success in building and leading highly effective teams within and across departments and functions of a school.
- Experience in curriculum development, auditing and innovation.
- Outstanding interpersonal communication skills both written and verbal to assist in dealing with sometimes difficult and emotional situations involving students, parents and staff.
- An ability to attract, mentor, inspire and retain outstanding staff who are passionate about education.
- A capacity to build high quality relationships that engender trust and respect with key stakeholders.
Qualifications and Requirements: - Degree qualified in Senior School (Physical Education) Education.
- VIT registration essential.
- Demonstrated experience and passion for teaching Physical Education
- Excellent communication skills and strong ability to connect with and motivate students.
- Strong leadership capacity
- A proven capacity for innovative, flexible and research-based teaching practice.
